About the Branch

The 27,000 LHMU members in Queensland come from many different industries and backgrounds. These industries include Contracting, Education, Health and Aged Care, Hospitality, Manufacturing and Miscellaneous industries.
All LHMU members in the state join up with the Queensland Branch. Your LHMU Branch plays an important role working to organise workplaces, provide members with support and advice, appear in industrial courts and lobby politicians.
The main office is located in Brisbane, with regional offices on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville and Cairns.
Members set the agenda
LHMU members play an important role in setting the agenda of their union at all levels. Each Branch has a democratic structure that gives members a real voice in the way it operates.
