cub members vicEarlier this month members won another great union agreement that ensures Fosters’ healthy profits are shared across its workforce.

Just days before members were set to strike they cut a deal with Fosters. It delivers a package of benefits worth more than 15% extra over three years, backdated to April.

Members’ pay increases each year by between $36 and $43 a week. Their product allowance doubles.

Lead delegate Dominic Fountain said members did well, despite the global financial crisis.

"It’s a fair agreement under the circumstances."

Members at the brewery have a long history of standing together. They first unionised over 100 years ago. A century later, the brewery remains a proud 100% union site.

Dominic said unity has been the key to ensuring jobs at Abbotsford brewery are good now and into the future.

"The unity of the workers since 1904 has resulted in us receiving exceptionally good conditions."

"It’s probably one of the oldest, staunchest union sites in Victoria."
